    Description

    6 3/4" x 2 3/8" SARGENT door cover plates for mortise  lock.
    Old cast brass or bronze - non magnetic and very heavy. See vintage 1910 catalog page. This shows wrought (alloy) steel version. My research indicates this are probably wrought (alloy brass or bronze formulation. The MB on the casting back could be for malleable brass or malleable bronze. No indication of the definition in the SARGENT catalogs.
