VINTAGE: RUSSWIN # 1238 ENTRY LOCK w/CYLINDER & KEYS - 8" FACE - NICE (8432)
NOTE: Russwin made the 1238 and the 1238 1/2, two versions of the same lock.  The difference is that the 1238 has a built in deadbolt while the 1238 1/2 does not have a built in deadbolt.  Be careful when ordering to be sure you get the right one. This version of the lock DOES HAVE NOT have a built in deadbolt.
Vintage:  RUSSWIN circa 1920 - 1940 entry mortise lock lock.   Reconditioned, with a new Superior Solutions brass cylinder and two keys.
Heavy brass faceplate with body of the lock clearly maker marked 'RUSSWIN', one of America's great manufacturers of builder's hardware during the second half of the 19th & early part of the 20th Century.
Dimensions as follows:
FACEPLATE:
Brass front plate measures  8" long, 1 1/4" wide, 1/8" thick.
BOX:
Box is 3 5/8" deep from the back of the front plate and it is 5 3/4" top to bottom.
SCREWS:
Screws are on 7" centers.
BACKSET:
Step back from the front of the front plate to the center of the cylinder is 2 3/4".
REVERSIBILITY:
The lock is reversible.
KNOB POST or SHAFT ACCOMMODATION:
Accommodates a split shaft knob post of 5/16" on the inside and 3/8" on the outside.
FUNCTION:
Requires door knobs on each side of the lock.
CONDITION:
Excellent, works perfectly.
If you are replacing an identical lock, you may have everything you need.  However, if you need a split shaft knob post or knobs, let us know as we may have what you need in stock and we can add that to your order and include in the same box when shipping.
