Vintage Rim Lock Surface Mount Deadbolt Latch Gold Color; Unknown Manufacturer

Description

For sale is a Vintage Rim Lock Surface Mount Deadbolt Latch that is gold in color.  Manufacturer is unknown, and no identifying information was on the lock. The lock has an alloy composition
, except for the back plate and possibly some internal parts, like the spring.   The lock weighed 8.48 ounces.  The Rim Lock measured 2 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" long.  The front two screw holes are 2" center of hole to center of hole.   The lock functions mechanically as intended, with the thumb turn opening and closing the deadbolt, and the small button keeping the bolt retracted when pushed into position.  There is loss of finish, mostly on the thumb lever and the thumb button.  Surprisingly little evidence of corrosion present--this is a very clean and functional lock.  Does not come with a keeper or catch, and is also missing the original mounting screws.  The lock has nice clean lines and a pleasing color to go along with the vintage patina.
