Description
Antique open work wrought iron surface mount keyhole plate latch, circa 1800. Called a keyhole latch due to it's shape resembling a keyhole on it's side. This is an exceptionally large size measuring 8"deep
x 4"
high at widest end. Accompanied by the early original narrow neck knobs measuring 1 5/8" in diameter and original rosette in untouched brass patina and iron drive-in jamb keeper. This type of lock is not reversible and is
right hand
only. Knobs are fitted to about a 1 1/2" door presently but can be modified for any door thickness upon request added on Comments when ordering. Latch is in excellent working condition, showing light surface pitting but no damage.
