Rare large vintage PAULY JAIL iron lock originating from the late 19th century. The lock was manufactured by PAULY JAIL LOCK CO. (ST. LOUIS, MO. USA) who were known as some of the biggest and best pioneers in jial construction. The lock is marked across its face reading "Pauly Jail Lock - St. Louis MO. USA - PAT. PEND." and is unmarked across the back. The lock shows very solid construction and comes with two keys. The padlock and keys weigh just over 4 lbs. The piece is in good condition. The lock measures 8 1/4" long by 4 3/4" wide and 1 1/4" thick. The lock is in working condition. This is an awesome piece. Great for collectors. Industrial or other home decor.
