    Description

    Rare very thin cast iron mortise lock from the 1870's signed M W & Co. by the Mallory Wheeler & Co., New Haven.  Lock measures 4" high x 3 3/8" deep x only 1/4" thick.  Back set is 2 3/4" - spacing is 2 1/2". The lock face is iron and measures 5 7/8" x 7/8".  Complete with keeper and key.  Restored, reversible, and in very good working condition.  This very thin mortise lock was made specifically for use with early thin doors and are relatively rare.
