    Description

    Very unusual and rare American beveled edge reversible cast iron locking rim passage latch manufactured circa 1865.  This very narrow lock's horizontal key way locks the latch in place - there is no bolt in this passage latch.  Measures
    2" high x 5" deep
    without the keeper which is
    1 1/4"
    additional.   Complete with the early original brown mineral door knobs, cast iron key escutcheon, and one key.  Key has access to lock or unlock from both sides.  Restored to a natural iron finish, complete, and ready to install.  An unusual looking rim lock from post-Civil War era.
