    PENN #5561 ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/KEY - 7 1/8" JAPANNED FACEPLATE - NICE  (15803)
    Vintage, Patent date inside is 1910. Penn entry mortise lock #5561, key works just fine, reconditioned, mortise lock maker is PENN HARDWARE of Reading, Pennsylvania, one of the premier hardware manufactures of the 19th and early 20th Century.
    FACEPLATE:
    Japanned face plate measures 7" long, 15/16" wide, 1/16" thick.
    SCREWS:
    Screw holes are on 6 1/4" centers.
    BOX:
    Box is 3 1/4" deep from the back of the front plate and it is 5" top to bottom.
    BACKSET:
    The backset, (the distance from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the center of knob post hole) is 2 1/2".
    Clean, mortise lock is high quality, no rust, functions just fine and comes with the key.
