    Victorian era
    door chain bolt in decorative cast iron, 1870's.  Bolt measures
    5 3/4
    " high x 1" and 1 1/2"
    at hole mounts x 5/8" thick.  Latch extends 1/2" out.  This type of bolt was used at the top of doors with a pull chain being used to allow access on tall doors without excessive reaching.  This bolt has been cleaned and refinished in black.  Great working condition with a very strong spring.  Missing the pull chain and jamb keeper/strike.
