Complete & Restored Over Size Blake Thumb Latch Original Victorian Antique 1890

Description

Large over sized Blake thumb latch in cast iron manufactured circa 1890.  Handle measures 8  1/2" x 2  5/8" across the top with a 4 1/2" grip opening.  The off-side bar latch has a 9" bar with a 1  3/4" diameter ring mount, a 4" high staple, and a 2  1/2" high keeper x 1 7/8" at widest jamb keeper.  Thumb press extends from the back of handle 3  1/2" and will fit a door up to 2 3/8" thick.  Reversible and complete, these latches were made larger primarily for barns, stables, carriage houses or garages.  All parts are included as pictured and original .  The bar set shows surface weather pitting which is correct for outward opening doors on working or out buildings, but is in good operating condition .  Restored to black finish.
