Antique Chrome  Privacy Lockset w/Glass Knobs, Plates, Lock,  & Screws
Elegant, antique, interior door lockset  salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. This complete set consists of 2 glass knobs with brass shanks  (bases), 2 stamped brass escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock  with brass faceplate, 1 brass/steel strike plate for the door jamb, 1 steel  spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs, and 8 installation screws to  connect the lock and plates to the door. All brass parts are chrome or  nickel plated.
The lock is reversible and could accommodate the swing of any  door. The lock's deadbolt is engaged by turning the thumbturn on the interior  escutcheon. Traditionally, sets like this are used for a bathroom door.
The knobs are octagonal in form and the escutcheons have an elegant, Arts  & Crafts style design.
We found the set partially painted, dirty, and tarnished. Since then, we've removed the paint and cleaned the set  while trying to preserve as much patina (tarnish) as possible.
The set is in  great condition with only tiny nicks and light  scratches, which are typical for nearly 100-year old hardware. The glass  knobs are intact and free of breaks, cracks, or chips.
The lock was  opened, inspected, and greased to function more smoothly.
