Antique Victorian Privacy Jack & Jill Mortise Door Lock Dual Split Bolt -Norwalk

Description

For your consideration is a very nice antique passage mortise door lock manufactured by Norwalk Lock Co. in South Norwalk Conn. in the early 1900's.  The lock is no. 8594.  The lock has a split bolt that can be actuated by thumb turn from each side of the door.
It can be used simply as a standard mortise with privacy bolt for a bath or bedroom but also can be set up if you want to independently lock from either side of the door.  The lock strike, bolt, and face plate are made of brass.  The lock body is cast iron.  The mortise lock is in excellent functional condition - It has been refurbished - all parts disassembled, cleaned and properly reassembled.  The lock strike is reversible - it can be used with a right or left hand swing door.  The lock accepts a standard 9/32" spindle.  Dimensions are as follows:  Face plate: 6-3/4 x 1", Face to center of hub (set back): 2-3/4".  Comes with brass door plates w/ thumb turn.
I have several of these lock sets.  This auction is for one set (one mortise lock & two door plates w/ thumb turn).  I will combine ship for purchase of multiple items.
