    Description

    For sale is One (1) Antique Eastlake Cast Iron Cabinet, Cupboard, Screen Door, or possibly a Window Latch.  It measures approximately 1 31/32" long (not counting the extended striker) x 2 9/32" wide x 21/32" tall.  The Latch body appears to be cast iron.   This latch was originally covered with layers of persistent paint.  It was cleaned down to the bare metal, leaving a nice patina of gray aged iron.  The latch was then treated with Penetrol (a product of Flood Paint Solutions) to prevent corrosion.
    There is a small amount of surface corrosion or rust on the inside of the Latch (see photographs), but overall, the interior of the latch is remarkably clean.  The latch is functional and the spring remains strong.  On the length side (from the striker running back to the spindle hole) the center of hole to center of hole on the mounting holes is 1 11/32."  On the width side, the center of hole to center of hole is 1 3/4."
    This latch will require a 1/4" x 1/4" (or slightly less) spindle and two knobs, along with escutcheons and mounting screws.  These additional items are not provided.
    No catch or keeper is provided.  Mounting screws for the latch itself are not included.  The only item for sale is the latch itself, as shown in the photographs.
