Antique Victorian Bed Bath Privacy Mortise Door Lock Bolt Skeleton Key - Norwalk

Description

For your consideration is a very nice antique mortise door lock manufactured by Norwalk Lock Co. in South Norwalk Conn. in the early 1900's.  The lock is no. 8541.  The lock has a bolt that can be actuated by thumb turn or from a skeleton key.
The lock strike, bolt, and face plate are made of brass.  The lock body is cast iron.  The mortise lock is in excellent functional condition - It has been refurbished - all parts disassembled, cleaned and properly reassembled.  The lock strike is reversible - it can be used with a right or left hand swing door.  Dimensions are as follows:  Face plate: 6-5/8 x 1", Face to center of hub (set back): 2-3/4".  Comes with a pair of beautiful crystal glass knobs, brass door plates w/ thumb turn, strike plate & skeleton key.
The glass knobs are in very good condition with a fey minor flea bites.  The back plates are in very good condition with some tarnish.
