Antique Victorian 14k Gold Mourning Ring with Black Onyx Stones, size 7 1/2 +BOX

This listing is for an antique Victorian Mourning Ring in a wonderful old box that opens when you push the round pearl button and latches securely when closed. I had a jeweler look at this ring for me and she stated that it is 14k gold with black onyx stones and is size 7 1/2. This ring obviously was worn a lot in memory of a loved one, as it shows quite a bit of wear on the oval center piece, such that I cannot really determine whether there is the customary hair or fabric underneath. You can see bits of emerald green color around the outer edge of the center oval when I shine a flashlight onto it and use a loupe, but I don't know what that translates into. Any markings on the gold have been worn off over time, if there were any. There is
very faint
lettering on the inside lid of the box and I can only make out one line that possibly reads "GEM GIRL". The box is 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 x 1 3/4 inches high.
