eBay Listing Template r11869 J & N RIM LOCK w/KEY, KEEPER & ESCUTCHEONS - WORKS GREAT! (16244)
Vintage rim lock by Jacobus & Nimick, an early door hardware manufacturer from near Pittsburgh in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Wonderful condition, lock body carries the patent date of February 23rd, 1869, ready for your door!
The lock is complete in that it comes with the cast steel box and keeper with a key and both the key and the knob escutcheon. Very well crafted and very heavy duty. The keeper attaches to the door frame while the main body is attached to the inside surface of the door. As a general rule, these would have been used with white or black porcelain knobs. If you need a set let us know, we have plenty in stock.
The box measures nearly 4 1/8" in length and 3 3/4" high where it matches with the keeper. The backset (the distance from the edge of the door lock to the center of the knob post hole) is set back is 3". Has brass plunger, deadbolt and slide lock, everything works perfectly. .
Very nice condition.
